Consanguineal Fauna color drawing by Caia Koopman

New Work: Consanguineal Fauna

Share

In a minor deviation from her usual medium of paint, the new work Consanguineal Fauna arrives! Created entirely in Prismacolor colored pencils for “Your Pencilled Masses, Yearning to be Free” at the CHG Circa Gallery, it offers a subtle, dreamy presentation of Caia’s sublime aesthetic. When asked about the theme, we were merely pointed to the definition of “consanguineal”. To wit:

Consanguineal – adj. – having the same ancestry or descent; common origin; related by blood.

Aren’t we all connected… people and all animals across the globe? Shouldn’t we all be stewards of our kin? Feathered, furry and skin??

See it in person if you are in the Los Angeles, CA area October 3 – 24 at the CHG Circa Gallery, Culver City, CA.
